Welcome to my Exto profile! My name is Martine Mussies and my goal in life is to promote classical music in easy-to-grasp forms,  supported by modern technology. To me, creating art & music is a way of celebrating life. I loved crafting even as a child, before I knew I would like to become an artist.

Since then, I've made presentations for orchestra's, wrote lots of columns and stories for various magazines, participated in many cd-, DVD- and musictheatre-productions (among others at the Nationale Reisopera), created the choreography and mixed the music for a ballet, made photographs & movies, build websites and composed a few pieces as well. I dream about becoming a famous artist in the future, because I strongly believe that that's the way someone can mean something to our world and make a difference.

Digital

To promote classical music, I have created videos, photos, presentations and websites - autonomous (for Encore!Magazine) and as assignments. More links will be added soon; this online portfolio renews constantly because I keep creating new work and always want to improve my websites. Among others, I work(ed) for: Concertgebouw, Bloqs, Brabants Orkest, Haydn Stichting, Huismuziek, Andre Kerver, Klankschalen, Cecily Lock, Inge Lulofs, Trio Mauricio, Muziekwetenschap, Pianopals, Radio 4, Anita Rovers, Leo Samama, TCOV, Valerius Ensemble, Veldhovense Muziekschool, Wolters-Noordhoff.

Ceramics

I had already worked a lot in the artsector, but it was not before I met Anita Rovers that I decited I want to become a professional artist. After two years of lessons with Anita, I went to look for a dual education in ceramics. And in Gouda, I have found exactly what I was looking for! Since september 2008, I study ceramics not only with Anita (who became one of my best friends), but also at the SBB with Mieke de Groot and Lucky Lambo.

As a ceramist, I want to learn to create things that last. Due to mass production, people get an overload on products that follow the newest hypes. Most consumer articles are cheap and easily replaceable - which leads to more consumption and a waste of materials. My personal goal for the future is to create products that are beautiful and can withstand time by giving them personal en exclusive qualities. Because I really think that music and art can make a difference to this world.

Crafts

Crafting has been my hobby since I was a small child. During my vacations I still "fiddle" (not only on my violin, but also in needlework), scrap and create collages and other paperarts (such as origami). Almost everything I make is mend to be as a present and I often use my craftwork as illustrations in Encore!Magazine .

Press

Publications about my arts&crafts have also been in the Dutch magazines DeKlank, Het Clavichord, June, Libelle, Fancy and Yes, in a number of newspapers and on various websites (such as Girlscene and Creabest).
