Encore!Magazine

...or E!M for short

Encore!Magazine is my largest project: a classical music magazine for youngsters. Because I could not find the magazine of my dreams, I decited to create it myself. And what started as a dream is slowly becoming my job. E!M is multimedial and consists of the magazine itself (printed, on cd-rom and on-line), sheet music, a communitywebsite (check encoremagazine.nl), teacher's materials, a library of soundfiles and a digital TV-channel (artistieke-ontmoetingen.nl).

Who?

I feel very lucky that I keep meeting people who want to help me with Encore!Magazine. Musicians and musicologists who write, artists who illustrate and composers who donate sheet music. At this moment, E!M's staff consists of designer Rob Geert (OM Text & Form, Utrecht) and editor Joost Jansen (my gambaplaying friend). But I also have to mention sound designer Rolf den Otter, who provides me with many sound files accompagnied by interesting articles. And don't forget Bryan Cheng, who films our little movies and has his company Filmpjes.nl sponsoring us. Thank you!

If you are an artist, a musician or a composer, you are enthousiastic about this project and you would like to contribute to it, please contact me. I'm always looking for fresh ideas and inspiring people to lift E!M higher and higher! (Some people have e-mailed me, asking whether it is necessary to know the Dutch language, but no, it is not. We can communicate in English.)

What's next?

As you may have guessed, at this moment E!M is only available in Dutch. One of my many unmodest dreams is to create other versions of it; an E!M in English, in French, in German, in Russian, in Swedish, in Czech... but as for know, I'll happily concentrate on my 3700 readers in the Netherlands and Belgium.
